Boult Audio Rover Review

Boult Audio Rover: A Review

The focus of this review will be on the Boult Audio Rover smartwatch. There are many smartwatches in the market and needless to say, there are numerous devices that are attention-worthy. However, I would say that the Boult Audio Rover has exceeded my expectations as a smartwatch.

What’s In The Box!

The Boult Audio Rover comes in a box that is relatively bigger than what we usually see in the case of smartwatches. It comprises the watch body, two straps (silicone and faux leather), the charging cable and the user manual.

First Impressions: Build Quality and Design

The works have been kept very simple as far as the design is concerned. Boult Audio Rover is a round-dialled timepiece, which is honestly a relief from the plethora of square-dialled watches that have already flooded the smart wearables ecosystem. The aesthetics aim for a simplistic as well as classic look.

The dial size is a humble 1.3 inches with a bright AMOLED display. The zinc-alloy body is glossy and catches the eye in an instant. I found the bezels to be a bit broader than I would have wanted. The idea behind the design was to give the smartwatch a sporty look and to be fair, it has been executed to perfection. Lastly, the overall build of the watch is impressive. It has a bulky and masculine presence, something that most smartwatches lack.

Performance

Let’s begin with the health suite. The smartwatch’s performance as a fitness tracker is good for its pricing. The step counter, heart rate monitor and SPO2 monitor do their job well. The sleep-tracking feature is effective as well. There are various sports modes already available in the watch and more can be added through the app. You can choose from multiple sports modes such as bicycling, rope skipping, tennis, basketball, rugby and even VO2 Max.

For those who like the privilege of options, there are many, when it comes to watch faces. There are over 150 watch faces to choose from. Personally, I pick one in the beginning and then stick with it. However, if changing watch faces is your thing, there are plenty of options.

Connectivity is not an issue as the watch can be easily connected to a smartwatch via the BoultTrack app (available on Play Store and App Store) to keep a tab on all these things. There will be detailed data on each and everything on the app and the user interface is quite simple.

Sweat is the ultimate enemy when you are a fitness enthusiast. Countless watches and earbuds have been lost to disruptive sweat drops but that is not an issue with this device. The Boult Audio Rover comes with an IP67 rating, meaning it is fully protected from dust and highly water resistant. It is protected from immersion in water in the depth range of 15 centimetres to 1 meter.

Bluetooth calling is yet another feature that impressed me while using the Rover smartwatch. There is no lag whatsoever and the connection is seamless. The built-in mic and speaker in the watch do an apt job too.

Verdict: Is It Worth It?

Smartwatches are playing a big role in our daily lives today. These devices have somehow managed to become an integral part of our lives. We use them for maintaining an active lifestyle and for keeping a track of it, among many other reasons. For many, they are also quickly becoming symbols of class and style.

Boult Audio Rover is a smartwatch that accomplishes both. Not only is it a great piece of tech on the wrist keeping track of movements and vitals, but it is also a great-looking timepiece. The straps are functional as well. The quality of the strap is a huge factor when it comes to how long can you actually wear a watch. In the case of the Rover, I found the straps to be extremely durable as well as comfortable.

In terms of battery life, the brand claims a 10-day run time. 4 to 6 days would be a more realistic figure if features are Always on Display, Raise to Wake, and Bluetooth calling are being used.

With all the above-mentioned features, Boult Audio Rover is a catch at INR 2,999. It would be safe to say that Boult Audio’s Rover is one of the best value-for-money and holistic smartwatches available in the market right now.
