Amid the ongoing craze for gaming in the entire country, gaming content creators are taking the lead in the list of India’s top creators on YouTube this year.
This year, a total of five out of the Top 10 YouTube creators in India were gaming creators. They include names like Total Gaming (Ajay), Techno Gamerz (Ujjwal Chaurasia), A_S Gaming (Sahil Rana), Lokesh Gamer (Lokesh Raj Singh) and Gyan Gaming (Sujan Mistri). Total Gaming and Techno Gamerz took the top two slots of this year.
Apart from that, gaming creators also made up for 4 out of the 10 breakout creators that have gained subscribers in 202. The list includes names like Aditech (Atharvaditya Singh), Star Gamers (Mir Abdul Kalam), Flight Gamer and Rai Live.
“In 2021, gaming levelled up, emerging as a rich and diverse ground for storytelling and community building, with a notable presence across Top Creators, Top Breakout Creators, Top Women Breakout Creators and even, Top Shorts Creators. In fact, a five-hour-long gaming live stream of the FreeFire World Series Final in 2021, became one of the most popular videos in India this year,” said Director of YouTube Content Partnerships, India, Satya Raghavan in a blog post.
Raghavan noted that the year 2021 showed us that even in challenging times, the inventiveness and creativity of our ecosystem can bring help and hope to the lives of millions of Indians.
“It’s time to celebrate the content and creators that made YouTube an indelible part of our popular culture, and in fact our lives,” he added.
Meanwhile, amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic which affected business sectors all across the globe, however, the Indian mobile gaming sector is going to witness $1.5 billion of revenue in 2020 to $5 billion by 2025, according to a report by VC firm Sequoia and management consulting company.
