Amid the issue of cheating in Battlegrounds Mobile India, South Korean gaming giant Krafton has introduced a device ban, meaning that the developers will ban the device itself, instead of just the associated account.
“To provide fair gameplay and eliminate the use of illegal programs, we would like to announce an additional punishment for cheaters- Device Ban,” it said in an official announcement.
The gaming giant said that in case any hacker caught up utilising illegal programs would get their account permanently banned.
“If the use of illegal programs is detected with a mobile device by the newly applied security logic, the device will be permanently banned from using BGMI,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, the developers had permanently banned more than 1.4 lakh accounts in less than a week. The company said that it banned 1,42,766 accounts from December 6 to 12 on Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI).
Earlier in November, the company said that it has temporarily banned a total of 7.06 lakh accounts during the same time period to provide a fair gameplay climate to each and every player.
