Amid the announcement of the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has said that the company intends to keep the Call of Duty franchise on Sony’s PlayStation platform.
Spencer took to Twitter and wrote, “Had good calls this week with leaders at Sony. I confirmed our intent to honour all existing agreements upon acquisition of Activision Blizzard and our desire to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation. Sony is an important part of our industry, and we value our relationship.”

Meanwhile, Microsoft Corporation on January 16 announced plans to acquire Activision Blizzard Inc., game development and interactive entertainment content publisher.
This acquisition will accelerate the growth in Microsoft’s gaming business across mobile, PC, console and cloud and will provide building blocks for the metaverse, the company said.
Microsoft will acquire Activision Blizzard for $95.00 per share, in an all-cash transaction valued at $68.7 billion, inclusive of Activision Blizzard’s net cash, according to the information available on its website.
