In India, the industry grew at a CAGR of 21 per cent during the lockdown, with a steadily increasing customer base. As a result of people staying at home and working from home during the lockdown, there has been an overall rise in web and media consumption. This resulted in a significant need for multiplayer games with a social component. Higher monetisation for casual games stemmed from an increase in digital transactions, which was combined with an increase in gaming consumption.

As a result, the online gaming industry is on a significant growth trajectory across both user and monetisation metrics. Ans- Absolutely. Gaming today is gradually becoming recognised as a noble profession. During the past year, techies have turned their hobby into a full-time job as a result of lockdowns and social distancing. A professional gamer who has signed up with an e-sports organisation can now earn between Rs 5000 and Rs 45000 per month. The gaming sector fosters growth and heightens a variety of skills, including communication, teamwork, cognition, time management, and so on. Gaming also aids in the development of multitasking and analytical abilities. These ideas are supported by a number of studies.

Also, the high penetration of smartphones, internet connectivity in every corner of the nation is making people enthusiastic towards gaming where they can utilise their time using their skills also earn at the same time. Hence, the AAA factor (Anytime Anywhere Anyone) is a booster for mobile gaming.
