Working With Home Grown Gaming Creators To Expand Their Facebook Presence: Manohar Hotchandani

In India, Facebook has recorded 234 million gameplay sessions during July- August this year; ranking 3rd globally in gameplay sessions, said Manohar Hotchandani, Business Development Director, Facebook, on Tuesday, during the media briefing.  

Talking about the global figures, he said more than 380 million people play games each month on Facebook.  

Meanwhile, the most played games on Instant Games in India between Jul – Aug 2021, in order of popularity by gameplay sessions, are Ludo Club, Jumpy Jumpy, Bubble Shooter Pro, Water Slide, Chop Chop, etc.

Globally, more than 200 million people watch live gaming videos each month on Facebook. We increased 118 per cent in hours watched year-over-year (201M in Jan ‘20 compared to 439M in Jan ‘21). 

Over the last year, the viewership of live gaming videos in India has grown by over 530 per cent. The Top 5 most-streamed games from Facebook Gaming creators in India during July – Aug 2021, in order of popularity, are PUBG Mobile, Garena Free Fire, Grand Theft Auto V, PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, and Mobile Legends, informed Hotchandani, during the briefing.

Meanwhile, in India, more than 20 million people were active members in Facebook gaming groups, between July to August 2021. 

Hotchandani said that we have been working with homegrown gaming creators to expand their presence on Facebook. We also understand that India is home to many languages and our team is working with creators who provide live streams in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, and Punjabi apart from English, he said.
