ESFI Opens Applications For NESC 2024: Road To WEC 16th In Riyadh

The Esports Federation of India (ESFI) has begun accepting applications for the National Esports Championships (NESC) 2024. This competition serves as the initial stage for Indian teams aiming to compete in the 16th World Esports Championships (WEC) scheduled for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Organised by the International Esports Federation (IESF), WEC 2024 will feature 609 national teams competing across five games: Counterstrike 2 (open and female categories), Dota 2, eFootball series, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (open and female categories) and PUBG MOBILE. The prestigious tournament commences on 11 November and boasts a USD 1 million prize pool distributed amongst the top eight teams in each game title and category.

Additionally, the NESC 2024 offers a platform for Indian gamers to showcase their skills in Dota 2 (open), eFootball (open)n and Counterstrike 2 (open and female categories). Winners will progress to regional qualifiers, where they will contend against other Asian nations for a spot in the WEC 2024 global finals.

“Following a historic 2023 that saw India debut at the 2022 Asian Games, we’re thrilled to embark on a new year filled with possibilities with the NESC 2024,” stated Vinod Tiwari, President, Esports Federation of India. “Last year, we hosted the nation’s first female CS:GO qualifiers, with the winning team advancing to the Asian qualifiers. This time, we anticipate even greater accomplishments from our country’s talented female athletes. Overall, we’re eager to witness the talent and passion of all Esports players throughout the qualifiers.”

Further, Artsmith-Concepts & Visions, a leading Indian sports and esports communication agency will continue its partnership with the Esports Federation of India as its official communication partner. Registrations for NESC 2024 are currently open until 15th April. The online qualifiers commence on 18th April in a double-elimination format. The action will be streamed live on ESFI’s official YouTube and Facebook pages.
