In an effort to promote diversity within the gaming industry, Zynga India, a development studio owned by global interactive entertainment leader Take-Two Interactive held a gaming carnival titled “Gaming Carnival: Inspiring Inclusion.” The event, which coincided with International Women’s Day, aimed to educate and empower female students by providing insights into the various facets of game development.
The event, held at Zynga’s India Studio in Bengaluru, aimed at educating, promoting and creating awareness among female students about game development and provided invaluable insights into the diverse avenues available within the gaming industry, ranging from game development and design to creative writing and marketing.
Further, Poornima Seetharaman, Associate General Manager, Zynga India said “We believe that diversity drives innovation and empowering women in the gaming industry is not just a responsibility, but an essential need. At Zynga, we’re committed to nurturing an inclusive environment for everyone to contribute their unique perspectives and talents.”
Over 100 undergraduate women majoring in engineering, art and design participated in interactive workshops, game sessions and group discussions. The curriculum covered a broad spectrum of game creation, including coding, art design, narrative development and project management.
In addition, seasoned professionals from Zynga India shared their experiences and offered career guidance to aspiring young women, providing them with a firsthand perspective on the game development process.
Bhavna Talwar, Vice President of HR at Zynga India, emphasised the company’s commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion, “Zynga India believes in creating equitable and diverse opportunities for all individuals to pursue their passions.
