Skyesports, India’s esports tournament organiser, has partnered with LG UltraGear, a manufacturer of gaming monitors. This collaboration signifies a significant development in the Indian esports landscape, highlighting LG Electronics’ commitment to enhancing gaming experiences.
LG UltraGear will serve as the title sponsor for two Skyesports tournaments, the Champions Series (SCS) featuring Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and the Grand Slam, an on-ground event showcasing Counter-Strike 2 action.
Further, Yoojae Kim, Vice President and Director at LG Electronics India expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that it aligns with their mission of empowering gamers with cutting-edge technology. He further emphasised the shared goal of igniting India’s gaming passion and fostering a vibrant community.
Shiva Nandy, Skyesports Founder and CEO, echoed Kim’s sentiments, highlighting the collaboration’s potential to push the boundaries of Indian esports and provide top-notch gaming experiences. He also mentioned the upcoming 2024 esports roadmap, which extends beyond India to include international regions like Australia and Europe.
Additionally, the Skyesports Grand Slam, scheduled for 14-16 March during the India Gaming Show 2024, will feature four teams from India, Australia and Europe competing for a USD 50,000 prize pool. In addition, LG UltraGear will showcase its innovative monitors at an interactive booth within the event.
Further, LG UltraGear has joined the SCS as the title sponsor. This year’s tournament, boasting an Rs 10,00,000 prize pool, will witness its semifinals from 27 February to 3 March, followed by the Grand Finals from 5 to 10 March.
This partnership between Skyesports and LG UltraGear marks a step forward for the Indian esports industry. By joining forces, the two entities aim to elevate gaming experiences, foster community growth and provide a platform for talented Indian gamers to showcase their skills on the international stage.
