According to the report, while Indian gaming firms at first adapted through in-game promoting, 80 per cent of the $1.5 billion created by portable gaming in 2020 came from in-application buys and real-money game (RMG) spending.

There are presently a total of 300 million gamers in India and income across all gaming gadgets came to $1.8 billion out of 2020, up 500 per cent from 2016.

These gamers tend to gravitate towards real money gaming (RMG), which is key,” said authors Prachi Pawar and Pushpak Kedia of Sequoia.
