Intel Arc Graphics Cards: All You Need To Know

Intel’s Arc A380 desktop GPU is the tech giant’s entry-level offering in graphics cards. In terms of performance, it is a counterpart of the Nvidia GTX 1650. The GPU was quietly released into the Indian markets without any form of official announcement or fanfare.

In terms of specifications, the Intel Arc A380 graphics card features eight Xe cores and 6 GB of GDDR6 RAM. Not to forget, it has eight ray tracing units with 2000Mhz of clocking speed. The ASRock Intel Arc A380 Challenger ITX OC 6 GB Graphics Card is available in the Indian markets at a retail price of about INR 20,000. MD Computers has listed the card for INR 20,399 and Prime ABGB has the card retailing for Rs. 20,668. The card’s price in the United States is USD 139.99, which roughly amounts to INR 11,500.

On the other hand, the Intel Arc A770 is equipped with 8 GB/16 GB of GDDR6 memory, 32 Xe cores, 2100MHz clocking speed and Intel’s Xe graphics architecture. The card also comes with XeSS support, which is rival to Nvidia’s DLSS and AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR). Games such as Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, Ghostwire: Tokyo and Gotham Knights are confirmed to support XeSS. The Intel A750, however, features 28 Xe cores, 2050MHz clocking speed and 8 GB of memory.

As per benchmark results of Arc A770 versus RTX 3060 shared by Intel, while running at 1080p with ray tracing on, Arc 770 is statistically outperforming the RTX 3060 in numerous games such as Cyber Punk 2077, Fortnite, Watch Dogs: Legion, Hitman 3, Dying Light 2, Battlefield V and Resident Evil Village.

Raja Koduri, head of Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics Group (AXG), Intel, talked about the difficulties that his team faced while they were optimising the card’s drivers. He further added that the first generation of GPUs was the most troublesome to make since programmers had to work from the ground up and make sure that older games were running smoothly. However, he did say that the second generation of Intel’s graphics cards will perform better. s
